Title: Taking car to Wheels In Motion on Saturday - advice?

Going to have a proper alignment and geometry done by these chaps, as it seems to be where a lot of you recommend.

Can I drive up there with my T1R's fitted or should I fit the AD08R's, as these will be the wheels/tyres I want it to perform best with when I take it to the track (off to Donnington on the 16th June  s:bounce: :bounce: s:bounce:  ).

Will it make a difference to them when setting the car up?

I was thinking of (again through general consensus on here and FB) going -1.5 camber front and rear

Mine is a PFL with 15" wheels all round and right size tyres as per Toyota spec.

Aside from ensuring all adjustment bolts are sprayed and not seized up.

I have adjustable rear camber bolts and the Miesters are adjustable on the fronts also.

Anything else I should ask/be aware of/do?

My advice is to get the alignment done ANOTHER day and come to ding day!
But seriously, nothing needed really with these guys...

Need more than -1.5 in the front for a track car.

I went to them, told them where and how it will be used and left the rest to them.
Tell them what you want it to do and how and they will dial in accordingly.

I've got -1.5 front and -1.2 rear on mine and it's fine. Dead neutral. I suppose I might crank a bit more on there if It was for true track use or autocrossing/autosolos.

Start somewhere, work from there.

One thing I forgot to add - CHECK your tire pressures!
I didn't notice them do it, but they put my wheels to 34 all round! Only realized when I checked them afterwards as a matter of course...

Why the hell would they change your tyre pressures?

I have no idea, I wasn't expecting them to either.... But no one else touched the car!

Harder tyres make setting the tracking more accurate.  A bit sloppy not to return them to spec, but there's a good reason for doing it.

You have to provide more data about the car. What are the spring rates, swaybars, does it have camber plates, etc.

Alignment is car setup dependent. Another car can run less camber than yours if they have stiffer suspension. Every car is different.

For a starting track setup I would run -2.5 camber front, -1.5 rear. Zero toe on all corners. If running a high speed track with any rear aero a small bit of toe in can help.

The best way to check alignment is with tire temperatures at the track.
