Looking for a bit of advice please...
Would there be any benefit to adding cam bolts to a standard MR2 above the standard ones? If so, which ones are recommended?
Does anyone know how much camber adjustment you can gain from the standard bolts?
Thanks. s:D :D s:D
I didn't like the stories about the "standard ones" not being quite long enough. If by "standard" you mean those Toyota bolts that aren't meant for the mr2.
The stock bolts don't allow for camber adjustment.
If you're going to buy them, might as well go after market and have more range.
I'm only running -2 in the rear and I can definitely recommend it if you drive mostly b roads and nice a roads. More twitchy on motorways and more susceptible to tramlining and road camber.
Sorry to be stupid, what are cam bolts? Previously I was thinking cam shafts. Put in this context I'm thinking more suspension type adjustable bolts.
Sorry, just learning a little s:) :) s:)
They're bolts that replace one of the bolts that hold you wheel knuckle to the suspension strut. These bolts allow you to tilt the entire knuckle a bit, letting you set the camber, which isn't possible on the stock car.

This thread suggests there should be up to 0.5 degrees of camber adjustment on the standard bolts.
Any recommendations on after market bolts and where to buy ?

Good shout thanks.
Excuse my ignorance as I've got Meisters on do I need these and as the fronts have adjustable top mounts would I just need the rears ?
Just rears.

The top mount is just for fine tuning, the bulk of camber adjustment on coilovers comes from the slot in the top bolt hole in the steering knuckle bracket on the strut leg.
I have no idea why the rears don't have a slotted hole too, but they don't. Possibly because the multi link set up at the rear prevents you being able to just crank on camber like that (although that's all cammed bolts do anyway)
Cheers lads
I think I'll order a set as I need my alignment doing.
Yeah there's no good reason if you ask me. And our member jaworjawor agrees as he took the stock strut and just drilled out the stock hole to be slotted s:) :) s:)
Just got a set from gt4 play.
Helpful guys, thank you.
