When we were sorting the supercharger car, we had to cut out the diagonal sheet metal braces under the cross member that holds the engine lid latch.
David was concerned that the whole structure could wobble more, so we made a one-off strut brace that addressed the problem. We have a fan in the lid, so we could not simply put a bar straight across.
Below is what we made. It's a one-off prototype, tack welded together in the car, as there are a few funny angles to deal with. Would need to be refined and a jig made if someone thinks they are worth producing. Otherwise, if you want to copy, cut, fit and tack on the car to get it to fit properly.
How do you connect it to the cross member that holds the latch? Can't quite see.
Long bolts through the block in the middle and two holes drilled in the remains (in my case) of the tops of the diagonals.
Thanks
