Title: What's the lifespan of the cat exhaust section?
Post by: JasonSparks on June 15, 2017, 14:56
Hi All,

I've got a new manifold and back box nearly ready to fit, and have ordered all new nuts, bolts, gaskets and rubber hangers for the whole system.

I would like to know if I should also replace the cat section, (apart from exterior rust) how long do these generally last (mine could be 12 years old).

If I do need to replace the cat section, what should I replace with - Toyota, aftermarket (standard type) or is there anyone who produces a 'performance' cat version?

cheers, Jay

+1 on the Cats2u. However, their gaskets are a bit suspect as well as their chocolate bolts.
Mine needed sealing at both ends.
