Hi all,
I have some new locking wheel nuts coming due to the current ones fitted are the incorrect conical sort, this means that there is a possibility of the current studs have stretched meaning that the stud might snap when I come to swap over the wheel nuts.
Can someone confirm the OEM stud length so that I can get a few spares in case one does snap and I need to replace it, they are apparently fairly easy to replace however I need to use the car a week tomorrow to collect a hard top and want to get a spare or two so I have time to get some and replace if needed.
I can vouch for the ease of the job, having done it last week to replace a snapped stud. Took me 10mins! Still have 2 studs spare, as I bought all 3 that were in stock at Toyota

Are you able to measure the length of them for me, some seem to be coming up 63mm some are at 45mm. Good to know they are easy to change though!
I have some out of a rear hub, the spec is: 45mm overall length, 40mm excluding the head, c.14.3mm diameter for the interference fit into the hub.
I have read that the diameter of the front ones is different to the rear but that may be for mk1 or mk2s, mine all look the same but I only have rear ones out to measure so can't be sure.
Thanks for that, I bit the bullet and untightened the locking nuts, they weren't really fully torqued up so no drama. Hopefully the correct locking nuts will arrive in a day or so. Oddly the locking wheel nuts are in the OEM Toyota box.
