Hi all,
Odd question, just got new plates for the car which came with the standard fixing, I have drilled the plate holes using the old plate as a guide with a small hole etc. Seems that the stock number plate screws are much much larger than standard and the holes in the surround are too big. I don't want to stick them on especially now they are drilled, what size do I need?
Tempted to get a surround which I am guessing replaces the OEM plinth?
You could just get some of that double sided number plate tape from Halfords.
I've used it on another car ok for the last couple of years.

Not entirely certain what you're saying with regard to the hole sizes.
However, I fitted some new number plates last week utilised the existing holes, which were too big for the screws I had. So I just enlarged them a little so I could force the rawl plug through the plastic, which my screws then fitted perfectly.
Thanks for the help guys, I believe the correct size screw is an m6 self tapper, I will however try the rawl plug idea!

Worked for me as well, just needed to enlarge the hole slightly and tightly pressed a couple of rawl plugs in, holds nice a firm now and looks so much neater!
