I am looking at buying a roadster soon. I recently went to test drive one and straight away I noticed the clutch felt strange. When depressing it, it felt normal, however when slowly releasing it, the clutch seemed to feel like it got to a point normally then almost stopped and popped back, I drive a corsa at the moment and the clutch feels smooth all the way when releasing it.
Is this how the clutch is supposed to feel on a roadster?
Or is this an issue with the car, if so what is the problem?
Clutch problem. Could be either pressure plate or throw-out bearing.
Thanks for your help, how would you recommend fixing the problem, take it to Toyota? Or any garage?
How's the rest of the car? Roof? (£300 +). Rear subframe, check for rust near the O/S suspension mounts. (can be hard to see with the plastic cover on. £300 plus). Is the oil clean?
A clutch job will also be around £300. I'd find a well recommended local mechanic. The dealer will rape you.
The rest of the car is in good condition, so you recommend a new clutch all together?
Once you're in there, mad not to.
The parts are not expensive. Luk clutch kit about £70

What is it with you boys? May I gently suggest a tiny use of a search engine?
