Title: Toyota EH PS (power steering fluid is still in stock for those who wants to know) :)
Post by: Bugster_MR2 on July 5, 2017, 09:53
Hi

I want to replace my now 17 year old PS-fluid, and have read numerous posts about what oil to use.
General consensus on MR2ROC and Spyderchat seems to be "use Toyota fluid only", but some posts claim it is hard to find at the dealer.

I called my local dealer today. They said that they had two in stock, Belgium warehouse had 87 and Japan stock was 911 units.
Just wanted to mention this. It shouldn't be hard to get at your local Toyota.

My dealer could not find the oil in the MR2 parts catalogue, but I gave them part number 08886-01206, and then they found it at once.

Replaced mine with the Ravenol stuff about 500 miles ago with no issues.

Total EHPS DA can be had even cheaper. Fair enough if people want to use the original but given the amount I lost changing the pipes I'd be crying!
