Title: getting new engine to start HELP
Post by: ilovejapcrap on July 9, 2017, 16:17
hello,

Well I've rebuilt my engine and got it in car.

At first I had no spark but I do now.

The only thing not 100% at moment is a injector is leaking but surley it would still start ? wanted to check it ran then go back to that issue/

Comments please

It should start.  Don't run it for long.

Have you got any easy start or similar? See if it will run on that. Also take a plug out and see if it's wet with petrol.

And are there any error codes stored?

Jonbill is on the right track, I think.  You've got sparks and fuel pressure, so the only thing left is injector function.  When you pull the plugs, crank the engine over and see if the injectors are working.  You'll be able to hear them and also smell the fuel.

Just had a peek at the immobiliser system wiring diagram.  It cuts off the fuel injection.  It has an earth that locates on the N/S strut tower (which is the earth for the EFI main relay).  Check the quality of that earth?
