Firstly, I've had a search but can't quite find anything relevant.
The last few times I've driven the car I've noticed a feint but definite vibration when accelerating. It is most evident in the lower gears when under load (WOT between 3-4k) and is like a low hum. It doesn't cause the car to kangaroo but it is noticeable. Under part throttle it doesn't occur.
Do these symptoms ring any bells with anyone? My initial thoughts are an engine mount or possibly a coil pack (unlikely?).
Car is otherwise in good shape and pulls like it should. Wheels are straight and balanced.
Any thoughts would be most welcome!
Mystery solved. During the last service I noticed that the elbow for the air intake was basically just resting in place. Believing it would be an improvement I sealed up the join at either end. This morning I put it back to 'stock' and symptoms are gone. Can't explain why other than the narrowing in the bend, but I'd be surprised if that alone was the cause. Definitely feels freer now.
