Title: Gearbox LSD - limits?
Post by: m1tch on July 24, 2017, 17:01
Hi all,

Just working out gearbox options I need to sort for my project, I will be looking to get a C64 box rebuilt with uprated 3rd and 4th gears so that I know the box will be happier at higher torque figures, my question is if I should run with the stock LSD as well - not sure what they are usually rated to. I don't plan to remove the engine and box once the built engine is in so I just want to get it right first time so if the LSD can't handle higher torque then I might run with an open diff.

LSD should be fine, I've never heard of any issues when it's run in 300bhp cars.

How much power are you planning on running?
