Title: O2 Sensor Replacement
Post by: mertonmk on September 4, 2017, 11:46
Hi,

I have error code P0155 and am trying to buy a new Bank 2 Sensor 1for my car. I've been to Halfords and they only sell front and rear sensors, and can't tell me which one I need. Based on the fact that there are three sensors, two on the manifold and one on the Cat I assume that I need a front sensor, but don't want to shell out +£60 and buy wrong one.

Can anyone help please?

Thanks

Mark

Denso DOX-0206 is the post-cat one (bank 2 sensor 1)
Denso DOX-0204 are the two shorter ones at the top (bank 1, s1/2)

Actually...  Bank 1 and Bank 2 sensor 1 are in the manifold.  Bank 1 sensor 2 is after the main cat.  Short leads for the manifold.  Long lead for the main cat.

haha. Sorry Carolyn. You know as I typed that I knew something was wrong but I couldn't put my finger on it.
How many of these damn things have I bought as well... no excuse.

So DOX-0206 is the long one, Bank 1S2
DOX-0204 short ones B1S1 and B2S1

Check Rutland MR2 for O2 sensors - much cheaper than buying new or indeed ANYTHING from Helfrauds!

I have to admit, across 2 cars we're running 4 2nd hand o2 sensors (22 quid each from breaker) and they're reading fast, true and have been for longer than some brand new ones...odd

Thanks for all the updates everyone. Very much appreciated and apologies for asking what looks like a simple question. I've ordered a Denso sensor and socket this afternoon. Back on the road in time for the weekend hopefully   s:D :D s:D

The Denso ones should last years if unmolested. As I found though, playing around with manifolds and exhausts does tend to shorten their life somewhat as they are made of chocolate.

So does stiff suspension and dodgy roads

Or dox 0109 for the genuine denso universal sensor complete with 4 heat shrink crimps. At about £35 brand new that's what I'd go for.

Thanks all. Managed to get it done this afternoon. It was a bit of a bugger to get the old one off but after a bucket of WD40 it came off nice and easy. Warning light cleared and midlife crisis back on track  s:bounce: :bounce: s:bounce:
