..from what I remember years ago, members had done this...
HOWEVER I also remember there being a lot of confusion over this as I believe you can fit them but they are technically an MOT failure because they won't work properly because of the wiring loom.
...so my question is..has anyone fitted facelift headlights to a prefacelift car and managed to get them working 100% correctly?
Mine are working 100% but i bought the car like this. I also have the fog lights fitted. Im sorry but i cannot give you any hints on how to do it.
They can be wired up correctly.
Headcase did mine fore but I think Joe cool managed it himself passed MOT no problems.
I have facelift lights on my pfl, and have passed three mots without any issue.
My lights do not work as designed. On dip beam the projector lights are on. On main beam the projector lights are off and the larger lights are on. If they were correctly wired using a relay, both projector and large light would be on when using main beam. That said, the lights are very good and I have no desire to change the wiring. They illuminate the road much better than the standard pfl lights imo, though the "look or style" is not everyones preference.
FL lights function far better than PFL.
Couldn't believe how bad they were when I first drove my yellow.
Yes, I have done this, initially I had them wired up wrong so they came on dipped fine, but full beam both sets of bulbs lit up at half brightness. The tell tale main beam dash light also didn't light, which would be an MOT fail.
Andy at bonsai rewired them and fixed this. I have a photo of the wiring diagram somewhere, and it's possible to deduce the solution from the way my lights are now wired, so I'll dig it out and put it here because there is no link to the info anywhere. Do not follow us guides saying to cut bus wires in the fuse box, they will not work!
My light now work as before: dip projectors only on dip, full beam reflectors only on main beam, and with the dash tell tale lit.
