Well, I've just done one of these.
Won't be repeating the exercise.
I would have been much better off dropping the engine.
Bit of a sod was it, putting the bolts back in?
It was all the little stuff - and figuring out how to get that hose back on. Just so fiddly.
Could have done it in half the time and with a lot less frustration with it on the floor.
I thought the hose wouldn't ofhave been a problem, my money was on the inlet manifold bolts.
Anyway, is it going right now?

Never even though of that. I bailed out on the OCV.
Do not have triple jointed wrists.

Had to place the head on wooden blocks, get the hose on (using jubilee clip) and fiddle the head gasket into place while holding the head. Not easy single handed.
Should run tomorrow. Cams are in. Just a couple of bits and coolant....
That hose doesn't exist on an MR S. Just wondering if you OF the oil heater. In which case you've got a replacement engine...
Next time you're here, I'll give you the blow-by-blow.
How's yours doing?
Jason: getting the machine screw into the OCV is, indeed. a proper piglet.
If you want a hand tomorrow I can come over.
I ofn't done much with mine TBH, mainly been putting the Z engine together again. If it's dry tomorrow I'll have a go at cleaning the glue off where the skirts and scoops were.
I think I did see an oil heater when I was under, but could be wrong.
I'm fine, but always good to see you.
If you do come by, I need to give you some kero.
Job done.
Started and running. No leaks, no drips no crap coming out of the tailpipe. Engine (discounting exhaust and super charger) super quiet. Which is nice.
Never again.
Did I read you've got it in somewhere for rr mapping?
