Hey guys,
Anybody tried/seen this chargecooler in person? Its coming from Merc S600 S63 twin turbo engines. I cannot find any info on it but from the pictures i like it and the left side one would be ideal for a water to air setup.
Found it! 200mm X 185mm X 96mm, do you think its going to work well? For reference frozen boost ones(cheapo chinese stuff) are 270mm X 221 mm X 88mm and are rated for up to 350hp. Also from the looks of it the core is smaller than the merc one.
If it works for Merc it should be fine for you.
Please remember that it has just as much to do with the radiator and pump you choose.
Don't go cheap on the pump.
Get the proper Bosch one and the biggest rad you can fit.

Yeah, ill be going for Bosch one for sure and some rad from breakers but idk what to go with. All the aftermarket ones i have found are daaaamn expensive, i checked there are couple of Mercs around that are getting part out so ill check if i can have the chargecooler. Any ideas what rad i can use and from what car?
Fiat Cinquecento radiator is a popular choice from memory.
I would measure the space and see what fits. Get as big as you can.
Charge air can't be too cool can it?

I found measurements for mishimoto rad from MWR - DIMENSIONS 33 x 22 x 6 in thats roughly 820 mm X 560 mm X 160 MM. I will be removing the frunk and im going to cut the hood and add a ducting from the rad/rads to the hood. Under the duct im going to try and fit methanol reservoir but thats far in the future :)
I think the rad can be too big coz ill be using 19mm hoses and that means that i should have 19mm inlet/outlet. So my idea would be to find something half the size of the mishimoto rad. Something like this:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2005-08-FORD-FOCUS-MK2-ST225-2-5-ALUMINIUM-ALLOY-RACE-RADIATOR-Brand-New/253541948849?hash=item3b08471db1:g:AQsAAOSwMk1axeQ7
Correct me if im wrong on the 19mm hoses :) Ill check tomorrow for chargecore. I just ebay'ed Fiat Cinquecento radiator and its cheap as chips :D
P.S. Please remove link if not allowed.
Some people run copper pipe of a wider diameter to maximize the ammount of coolant they have.
I've just got the standard plastic hose.
If you don't have AC then the stock CC rad from a Ford Focus RS MK1 fits perfectly along the front. no need for any bumper mods

I do have AC but like i said im going to remove the plastics in the frunk and bend the rads back, will also add ducting so the air can go out from the hood. That way ill get some downforce and the most important thing ill reduce lift.
Now lets talk measures:
Frozenboost(cheap chinese thing i believe) rated 350 hp: 150mm X 220 mm X 90mm.
Merc one fitted on twin turbo engines one each side: 190mm X 200mm X 96mm.
All in all this will work, i just need to find sensible price because around here ppl are selling these for 200 euros which is a lot considering this is 2nd hand part.
Rad side:
CINQUECENTO - 468mm X 248mm X 34mm
Material : Mechanical aluminium
The Focus, ALUMINIUM ALLOY race one i found:
core: 670mm x 370mm.
1st one is 50 quid and can be found as cheap as 30 and 2nd one is 120 quid. 2nd one is significantly bigger so that would help with the cooling. Ill have to measure stuff before buying but i think that 1st one will be enough for around 300 HP mark.
Thats the Focus Engine radiator
I was on about the focus RS chargecooler radiator

Do you have a picture of the cooler? I only found S65 units on evilbay. Sounds interesting though and OE quality is a winner.

Hey,
There you go:

I found some locally for 200 euros and trying to find something cheaper. Also i think right one will work better in terms of bleeding and tube routing.
Thanks. I hadn't thought of bleeding issues. More pipe routing. Postage is expensive though!

I can pickup one from here and send it over. Im located in EU so its just the price thats high.
I'm sure that link was for sale from US, not EU. I didn't see any in the EU. But thanks for the offer, I'll keep that in mind to take up with you if I do go with a charge cooler.
