Hi,
2002 6 speed. 11 months MOT, 57k miles generally good condition through out....engine needs replacing, bottom end gone.
Not asking for a friend lol, it's my car and i'm looking to cut my loses and sell
Thanks,
Scott
Colour?
Optional extras like style bar or TTE exhaust?
Hood condition?
Autotrader prices are all over the place.
From 900 to 4k.
I would get a secondhand engine fitted if it was me.
Royal blue...everything is factory as far as I know
Hood not great, couple small holes in the corners.
Forgot to say it doesn't have the hardtop...
Damn...quite a range... I guess an ebay action is my best bet.
If I had the time and money I would do that...i'd probably do the zz2 engine conversion

Engines for these are pretty cheap some under 500 then it's just a case of getting it fitted.
Something amiss perhaps, my understanding is that a 2002 model has 5 speed gear box as standard and 57k with "bottom end gone"!
1979scotte - Yes engine prices aren't too bad price but I think it's the labor cost that hits hard...currently asking a mechanic I know if he can help

Previous owner mentioned something about a face lift model?, pre or post i cant remember. Was using it as a delivery car...lots of short journeys and not keeping an eye on oil levels, doh...luckily I kept my 1.1 saxo so I can continue my job...

There are some very early 2002 FL.
you can get an engine fitted for between £4-600 by Bonsai, D1 Customs or headcase.
You can source an engine for anywhere between £200 (that burns a bit of oil) and £1k for a brand spanking new one that's off a crate.
So all in all you're looking at £800 (or less) to less than £2k to get yourself back on the road.
Bear in mind that a new soft top fitted is £310... hopefully that helps you.
John
Added to which the leap from a new 1ZZ to a second hand 2ZZ is not large at ALL.

Thank you Scotte, always something to learn.

My previous 2 was a 2002 albeit registered on 21/12/2002 facelift 52 reg - I loved that car called Chilli. :)
It seems you haven't had an answer to 'what's it worth?
In its present condition about £350, I'm afraid. (needs engine £1,000 installed and roof £300 plus any other jobs....)
Sad but.... either get the engine done or it's one for the breakers (which would be shame).
Reality can be harsh.
If it was me, to be honest, I'd get a cheap run about for as little as i could, get an engine and install it myself. I've done heads, clutches etc. The only thing I've not done is an engine swap and that's easier than head swapping. Maybe use it as a learning experience?

That is very late 2002, but still 2002, so thank you also to Chilli Girl for putting me right ( again). ;)
