Hi all
I write Buying Guides for the major classic car mags, and am now working on an MR2 Mk3 guide. We've photographed Toyota GB's own TF300, and now we need to interview a keen owner - someone who's owned a Mk3 for a few years and knows the car well, so can comment on their strengths and weaknesses.
It'll only be a short interview and maybe best done by email as I'm currently in Philippines, but I can phone you if necessary.
Importantly, we'll need a good photo of you, close up head'n'shoulders with your MR2 in the background. If you're within easy striking distance of SW London/Surrey, our photographer can arrange to take a quick snap but if not, we'll need you to come up with a suitable photo, please. And (typically!) time is of the essence, so the first suitable candidate to come forward, gets the slot!
PM me on here, or email MMcKays (at) aol (dot) com if you can help. Please!
Thanks,
Malcolm
Surely this is one for Simon ??

Hope your doing propper research and not saying usual half truths I keep reading on other forums :D.
We've now filled the slot via the MR2OC Facebook page - it seems Fb is taking over from forums these days! Thanks to those who did take the trouble to read this anyway ;-)

If you want a useful article, we can have a chat about the mr2 community, Facebook and forum, and how we work together.
Definitely not a case of take-over.
Facebook + mr2oc = mk2
Perhaps if you had contacted Admin we could of been more helpful but just popping up on the board once isn't going to get much of a response.
Hopefully this will be a better informed article than usual but I doubt it.

Unfortunately he did get in touch but too little too late it seems.
I've got a draft which I haven't had time to read yet.
We may have over a decade of knowledge on here but meh, means nowt

The only comparable resource is Spyder chat.
We should realise that motornoter is a journalist, that means he has to work to a deadline.
Unfortunately working to deadlines often means that is what you get- dead lines!

And we wonder why the masses are misinformed. By imposed deadlines. Make the money, spare the truth.

No Patrick it means everything. FB as a source of information on cars is useful only if you want to see a picture of Kim K's latest ride (or rider!) enjoy the endless "what tyre is best" posts and perhaps sell/ buy a part.
Mr2roc simply rocks - there is more reference info on the FAQ page than there will be available on FB after another 20 years... Thanks to all the members & you comitee guys for making it all happen.
I think you all know I use FB rather a bit too much, but as one of the most knowledgeable people I know said, if you want real usable information rather than the cr@p that's often spouted on there, then this or Spyderchat are the place to come.
However, as discussed yesterday, FB is a much friendlier place. Banter really isn't in some people's vocabulary on here and that's fine and not to everyone's taste.

Interesting and valid point. So start "bantering" more, change the tone of some threads and perhaps we will get the best of both here?

I'm not really sure that's the point of the forum tbf. It's a sauce of information (sic)

Again you may well be right. Still for what its worth I'm a memeber of two Ducati forums.
One is amazing, its free, people there can provide any technical info you will ever need. The board is dying the death slowly, events are attended only by die hard friends who've known each other for years and there not many logged on most evenings.
The second takes a bit longer to find answers to some questions. It has a two tier small subscription. Sometimes I'm not sure how to take the odd comment (directed to me or others in threads). The events are really popular. Its become in a couple of years one of the biggest Ducati forums in the world. Its amazing too, just in slightly different way.
Just sayin...

That's Stu's best catalogue pose, the whole scene could be straight out of the Grattan catalogue or Stu's promotional material for his range of odd-shaped, high quality t shirts!
