Title: Headlight removal
Post by: tricky1138 on June 5, 2018, 15:54
Before anyone asks - I have searched!

I know it is possible to remove the headlight without removing the bumper, but does anyone have any tips / pictures to aid me.

I'm sure it is fairly straightforward, just going in prepared tonight!  :-\

this is as close as i've got to not removing...basically it's ALMOST removing!

Interested to know if there's an easier way - especially as i have a broken bulb clip so have to take it out to swap them which is a f'ing pain!

It's reportedly feasible to undo the screw at the end of the bumper in the wheel arch and strain the bumper away from the arch to access the headlight retaining bolt.
Why not do it at Ding Day? You and Dirk can have a race, see who does it first with least amount of damage to car or owner![emoji23]

Tricky don't sweat it for DD if you're busy - happy to pay postage, or maybe  we could arrange club delivery network and set a record for longest pass the parcel  :)

I should be able to get it off before Saturday.  Just thought it would be easier not removing the bumper as heard it was possible!

I did have a minor panic that it was the wrong one!

I just hope my new one is right!
