Title: Load rating alloys
Post by: Nvy on June 8, 2018, 18:57
Hey guys,
Im puzzled, i found a set of watanabe rs8 wheels and bought them. Once they arrived i noticed that two of them are 555 load rating and the other two are 690. Visually the same, same et, width etc. Whats the difference between these? Cant they be different weight or something?

THe number relates to the maximum weight the wheel can take as its on an axle. 555 or 690 are massively over spec'd for an MR2. Are they 18" or 19"

In answer to your question, have you weighed them? I'd expect the 690 to have more weight to it.

@StuC (https://www.mr2roc.org/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=15683) , I note that Watanabe do what they call "Banana style" wheels, but I guess you know this  ;)
