Title: P0141 fault code.....which sensor?
Post by: gary1340 on June 19, 2018, 19:59
Hi folks. Got the above fault code. How do I know which sensor it relates to and where it is located? I'm looking at buying a new one. Is this a job to tackle by a total amateur!

It's the sensor in your catalytic converter.
Bottom left when looking from behind the car.

Is this the sensor. The one At the top on the photo?

Nope. Under the car.
You'll see the cat in th middle (behind the plastics) and the o2 sensor sticking into it on the left.

It's a pain to get to and can sometimes be stuck

It's nothing drastic Gary, don't worry, there are 3 O2 sensors on the car, all essentially the same sensor but the post cat one has a longer cable.
There are various options available, some people buy secondhand from well known breakers such as Dean Rozier at Rutland or Dongle Sloan.
You could try Paul Pridham at TCB or MR2 Ben all of whom will be able to sort you out with a Denso sensor.
Opie Oils, also an affiliate on here often have them at a good price too.
You need to look for a DOX O206 post cat sensor, anywhere in the region of £45-£75 depending on where you get one from.
We'll cover swapping it later...
