Title: Stereo Surrounding trim
Post by: Anonymous on March 13, 2005, 09:31
Have bought the Autoleads adaptor, but when I went to my local Mr T garage, I was told that there is no such part as 55423 - 17040.

I got the usual comments (they often tell you on websites that parts are available when they actually aren't!) (your cars an import so I can't search for parts!!?!).   s:roll:  s:roll:

Anyone got this bit, or know of a competant dealer who can actually sell me one?  Any help appreciated.

James

Hi James
What dealer are you using?
I found that Roys (Leopald Road) are much more helpfull

Cheers Peter, I'll give them a try.  Have been trying Dingles, they don't seem too keen on imports - everytime I speak to them they comment that its an import!

Are they Toyota? They're not listed on the Toyota website.
Been looking for an alternative dealer near Norwich, as Dingles have ****ed up fitting my carpet for the 3rd time, and scratched my paint for the 2nd!!!  s:x :x s:x

Been with them for three years never had a problem and they want your business and they dont mind imports and whats more they are polite and friendly

Sounds like he has that and is after the bit of trim that clips onto it to finish it off.

True, I have the autoleads adaptor, I just need the trim that goes round the outside.  Have yet to ask Pete's recommended place.  If anyone has that this trim that runs right round the edge then let me know!

Cheers for the help

try removing the surround from the old stock stereo, it takes a bit of effort but you simply remove that and put it on the autoleads adaptor, couldn't work it out myself either until someone showed me. hope this helps

Tried that - they said no surrounding trim available!
