Title: Bedding in new brakes
Post by: Bongo on March 13, 2005, 22:06
I've just had some new front discs and pads (stock) installed. What is the best way to bed them in?

I've found a link that suggest repeated braking from 60-10 without stopping:  m http://www.zeckhausen.com/bedding_in_brakes.htm (http://www.zeckhausen.com/bedding_in_brakes.htm) m

Is this correct?

Personally, I usually just do a bit of light left-foot braking when cruising at motorway speeds (obviously being aware of traffic around you).

Possibly not the greatest way, but it's what I've stuck with over the years.

I'm not sure if that depends from the pads as well, but the manual that came with the TRD pads says the same. And it also makes clear that you should NOT stop after the braking, but keep accelerating.
