Title: Time to check your lights.
Post by: Carolyn on August 29, 2018, 20:22
Nights are starting to draw in.

Just checked mine (prompted by a reality cop show!!) (sad).

One headlight no high or low.  Plastics off, dirty connector.

All the rest OK.

I wonder how many of us will find one defect?

Good call. Someone on FB was asking about bulbs the other day. I found Halfords listing incorrect sizes (for my fl anyway)
I keep a list on my phone:

For anyone who like me wasn't sure about sizes, here is FL bulbs
Front full - W60 9005 HB3
Front dipped W55 H7
Front Fog lights W51 HB4
Front & Rear Indicator / Brake / Reverse /Rear fog - 582 W21
Tail light 580 /W5/5w
Side light / Side indicator / Number plate - 501 W5w
Interior light W8

I believe the 3rd brake light uses the standard 501 capless bulbs as well, I have swapped out my brake lights to LEDs and they work really well, need to wire in a resistor to swap out the indicators as they double flash if I fit the LED version.

This reminder is especially pertinent to those with the stiffer suspension. I rattle through a fair few bulbs

Have you swapped the main brake lights or the third brake light?

I have swapped out both with LEDs.
