Any likely suspects for a small oil leak from the gear box. Noticed on the under tray when getting the box out for clutch change.
Three possibilities.
1) washer on drain plug.
2) Front seal, the give-away is oil in the bottom of the bell housing.
3) Drive-shaft seal (or seals) easy and inexpensive to do while the box is off the car.
Many thanks, I haven't seen it myself yet but had a phone call with the garage this afternoon and my mechanic mate flagged it up. Long day at work tomorrow so might be thursday before i get along but will give him a ring with your suggestions.
Crossmember was sufficiently holed to warrant replacement so hopefully all will be good by the end of the week.
My money is driveshaft seal.
Needed one for the V6.
I've got two sets of driveshaft seals on the shelf ready for the winter upgrades, one set were half price and it's pretty much guaranteed I'll muller one fitting them![emoji23]

It's the front seal
Not hard to replace.
Have them make sure the front bearing is ok.
Wrong again
@1979scotte (https://www.mr2roc.org/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=20268) - But you do it so well ;)
Bah! Out of all the seals there... What a crap one to go.
Fingers crossed.
If the bearing is broken, just think you're just an E153 away from a V6
The gear box is going to a specialist in Stockton for an opinion and hopefully a fix. I was not experiencing any gear noise and the amount of oil that came out of the box suggests very little loss so hopefully the bearing should be ok.
May as well do the drive seals at the same time, and maybe its been lucky to be caught early.
As for the crossmember...
Here's hoping for an easy, cheap fix for you.
As for the crossmember - looks fine to me! ::) ::) ::)
I'm sure someone could repair that, if they were so inclined!
Fingers crossed for you
