Title: Building around a turbo
Post by: Bullit on September 26, 2018, 16:23
I know this isn't the usual way to do things but long story short is that i bought a HKS gt2835 turbo kit for my skyline and the car got written off before i could fit it.

I've looked through a lot of threads and can see there is a lot of knowledge on here so i'm looking for some advice.

I'm looking at using the turbo on my mr-s and rather than buying a turbo to suit my needs i want a build that will get the most out of my turbo.

Be gentle  :D

That's a bit odd as the engine displacement and overall flow capacity is what mates it to the turbo.

Turbo that size will work fine but it's all about the boost control and the ecu you choose

Unless you build the block, you won't get the most out of the turbo but you'll get it to be a right hoot!

Charge cooling, oil cooler or bigger sump, and something like an ECUMASTER Black or Link G4+ and you'll be singing

That's great and just what i wanted to hear.

Are there many people on here using G4's ? I was looking at the monsoon as that seemed like it would suit my needs.

To be honest, at the minute the club deal we've got with ecumaster is unbeatable. I'd choose that over the monsoon. If you were going for one of the more advanced models, I'd say Link. Otherwise, you'll be hard pressed to beat the price of the EMB for the feature set

Either Ecumaster classic or black will do a better job than monsoon.
The club deal is excellent value too.

I would check out the EMU master group buy as well, has a lot of features AND the price includes mapping which is usually where most of the money goes!
