Title: Amazon - Cheap parts thread
Post by: Bossworld on October 1, 2018, 13:19
From time to time, Amazon clears out one off car parts.

Been browsing through for a few things, don't need them myself but may help others.  Please double check part numbers against an online catalogue or something first:

Borg & Beck BBH7257 - Rear left brake hose - £4.36 (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00B9BCXO0)

Borg & Beck BBH7255 - Front left brake hose - £4.21 (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00B9BCXNQ)

Borg & Beck BBH7256 - Front right brake hose - £4.22 (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00B9BCXM2)

(The rear right is currently £25 on Amazon so may be worth looking elsewhere to complete the set)

Herth & Buss Clutch Slave Cylinder - £4.65 (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Herth-Jakoparts-J2602017-Clutch-Cylinder/dp/B00FU9UQ5U)

ABS Clutch slave cylinder - £5.63 (https://www.amazon.co.uk/ABS-75058-Slave-Cylinder-Clutch/dp/B00CPNOQZ0)

Blueprint water pump - £6.12 (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Blue-Print-ADT39175-water-pump/dp/B00B90O5QU)

Maybe add anything else that folk find here? Are any of the sub forums members only?

50 views, no replies and someone's had the hoses.  Hmm.  Might try one of the sub-forums that requires you to be logged in next time.

Not sure what you're getting at or mean about "sub forums"?

Maybe a non member has bought them(not logged in) as hopefully a member would say thanks for pointing out the bargain.

Well I DID give the post a like  :-[

Under more normal circumstances I absolutely would have voiced my gratitude, but these were less normal circumstances........

(Had already spent far too long on the forum yesterday when I discovered the thread, then took a ridiculous amount of more time to find some other stuff I wanted to bump the price over £20 so I could actually complete the order - I do hope that doesn't sound ungrateful !!! as weirdly actually just paying for delivery didn't appear to be an option  ::)  ) ...and  what I should have been doing instead ? - err, plumbing in the kitchen sink before SWMBO got home ......

Was still working on it at midnight (and it's nearly there now) by which time I'd probably long forgotten all about this thread ......

So thanks very much Joe for posting that up, 'twas me that bought them - a fact that may make you feel slightly happier or may not  :D

I've no problem with it at all mate just glad it's gone to someone on here  :)

Many many lurkers on sites like HotUKDeals have warped my views on this stuff, no offence was intended.

It's funny, I forget there are "non member" parts as I only browsed a few times before joining and I mainly use Tapatalk so don't use/see the likes features etc.

Or Blueprint for a little extra

No offence taken - quite the opposite, I do love a bargain !

When I saw your 50 views / no replies comment I was a bit bemused really as I could see me writing exactly the same thing under those circumstances......

It was touch and go whether I was going to make the run on Sunday, but Mrs KTM gave me a pass out on the basis I would be cracking on with much needed DIY on Monday........

Grabbed a starter motor for £18. The pitch of mine changed after the clutch change, and the car's on 130k so doesn't seem the worst thing to swap.

Edit: and then I did some research and it seems that starters either work or not. Order cancelled
