Title: What braces are available now?
Post by: james_ly on October 11, 2018, 09:24
As in, one that you can buy and get quickly...
Facelift car so presumably I can get away with less?

Ultra racing do pretty much everything and you can get prompt delivery.

There are lots of places that sell them, just go on the main website - find they model numbers you want and then start shopping around.

Doesn't matter what year you still want a mid brace and a front strut brace at a minimum.
Strut braces can be found easily but the mid braces are a bit more difficult.
Megillian Motorsport were doing braces but they were on a long lead time.

@MrT was selling a bespoke, full length underbrace at one point, I never saw it sold so maybe he still has it available? It was a one off he had made up by Megillian.

OK thanks, Ultra racing seem to only have front and rear braces not the mid one?

They do far more than that but not a large mid brace in the style of TTE and the various copies.

How much of a difference does a brace make? - They don't seem that much for something that could be significant if it makes the car better to handle!

As with any car mod, it's effect will be amplified or dulled by the condition of the rest of the car.

That being said, my experience of fitting a front strut brace was phenomenal. Car felt more sturdy and handled the bumps better,   it had better oversteer and there were less creaks and rattles as there was less flex.

Front strut brace gets my vote for the best bang for buck in terms of mods...

Bracing, suspension refresh and tyres are the best mods.

Thats my thinking, tyres all seem quite new, albeit not matching (Front and Rears are different) but the suspension looks like its needing done anyway so that first before bracing!

There are tyres and then there are tyres.
What make and which sizes?
I prefer all 4 to be the same make and model.
