Title: What's the differences on these no cat manifolds
Post by: JerryL on December 5, 2018, 09:55
Can anyone tell me what the differences are between these 4 no cat manifolds, all look similar but with different prices.

All I can say with certainty is the Toyosport are tried and tested, if maybe a little heavier than others and the Garage 59 ones have been in use for a good while now with no scary stories on performance. (I've got one of the early ones on mine).
Hamish (Garage 59) is an affiliate on here and also sometimes gives discount if you order via the Facebook page as there's no Fleabay fees (or protection but again I've not heard any bad news).

My 2 cents on the story, these are all the same but with different badge and maybe a bit of polishing. My toyosport is the same as these - looks 1:1.

I have to disagree.  I've handled Toyosport and the Garage 59 manifolds and they are well made with heavy gauge tube wall, quality welds and clean junctions inside.

I've also handled a couple of cheap ones.  Welds were rubbish, metal was lighter gauge and the internal finish was very poor, with lips and welds sticking out.  For a very few squids' difference, I'd say stick with the proven ones.

I can only say from pictures coz i only have the toyo one. Seems like a solid piece and it looks great once wrapped.

Whichever one you go for, go for a genuine head to manifold gasket as they supplied ones are absolute pants

Thanks for all the info, where do you order genuine manifold gaskets?

The crush-rings, that go between the manifold and the cat are definitely better bought from Toyota.  you might as well get the ehad to manifold one at the same time :)

I get them from the Toyota online store;

If in doubt, you can use their contact form.  The service is OK -ish.

All I need now is it to stop raining and warm up a bit.
