Title: Bing bong the clutch is dead
Post by: Smcknighty on December 23, 2018, 11:56
Not a massive surprise, 20 months later after my sp turbo upgrade and at 129500 miles the stock clutch has given up. An attempt to over take up a hill on full boost led to a screech to hit the Rev limit and no over take. Poor engine.. seems to have survived unharmed but no doubt hastens it's inevitable rebuild.

What performance clutches and/or flywheels do people run with their turbos?

Helix autosport was very nice with my Sp240.
No need for anything too heavy it's not exactly chucking out tons of torque.

Might as well spend my time by side of road researching :)

Seems like it's little high Rev clutch slip experience took its toll, think I've snapped a Conrod or something.

Rac towed it back, amusingly I know the Rac guy, he lives nearby. We managed to get it to turnover on the drive, major clattering noise when running but it starts and it's not massively misfiring. Hmm, diagnosis thread starts tomorrow, maybe it's a candidate for a rebuild although I am very low on spare time right now
