Title: Suspension Arm Ball Joint
Post by: EdBlag on December 23, 2018, 22:52
Hi All,

on my cars last MOT while owned by the previous owner there is an advisory; "Suspension arm ball joint has slight play Offside Rear Outer [5.3.4(a)(i)]"

I was just perusing t'internet trying to price up the part needed to sort the advisory but i cant figure out which part it is referring to.

Can anybody point me in the right direction?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

:)

I'd suggest the traction/toe arm as it's the one out of the three that has a "ball joint", the others are bushed. There's an outside chance it could be the droplink but you'd sort of assume it would say droplink if that were the case?(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20181224/66b2ff8824ad85a49ea7f67b67986331.jpg)

Great, thank you!
And thank you for the photo, I am now more educated on the names of the suspension components 😀

Yeah, that photo should've come with a disclaimer really, I didn't label it and there's some debate over wether the labels are actually valid. But I did red circle the ball joint for reference.
You might want to look at Hardrace arms, they're often more cost effective than OEM. I know TCB Performance had a good price on them not so long ago.
