Title: Garage recommendations for an engine rebuild and install
Post by: Dudi on February 6, 2019, 16:51
Apart from Rogue Motorsport any other recommendation for an engine rebuild and install (2ZZ or K20 undecided at present).

Location flexible from Manchester, Midlands, South Wales , South West or towards London.

You could just buy a rebuilt one off mag engines and then fit it? (2zz)
Alternatively you could just buy Joecools (2zz)car which is effectively a turnkey solution and save yourself an awful load of money, time and effort..

I've blown the 2ZZ in my track car and looking to get an uprated (uprated bearing, valves, oil pump gears and possibly cams) 2zz or just going all out and K20 it. Ideally looking for a drive in and out solution as I'm just completely flat out with work at the moment.

Me and a good friends pretty much built the car so I have no aversion to a set of spanners but the time just isn't there.

Quite a few people still swear by Patrick Chambers down south. Headcase on here
He's done more 2zz conversions than I care to count.

It's a shame Patrick is 8 hours away from me, otherwise he seems to be a good option.

I gave my mechanic a box of 2zz engine parts from an engine which i had dismantled and didnt have the skill to rebuild.  He rebuilt it all back up, installed into my mr2, did all the custom work as well.

Simon @ YVS in Sherburn in Elmet nr Selby North Yorkshire.  His garage could do with a clear out and a tidy but his knowledge on MR2/jap cars has never let me down.  He rebuilt my mk2 Mr2 upto 350BHP on a limited budget a few years ago.  Good workmanship and he really enjoys his work.
