Title: O2 sensor resistor hack
Post by: Justin.D on February 13, 2019, 10:51
Hi all

Been away sorting a few personal issues for a while - I should be back a bit more regularly from now on

I have the P0141 fault code - O2 sensor heater circuit - post cat. I'm getting the resistors for the hack, but I'm not certain how they get wired up

I know it's with the 2 wires of the same colour, but is it spliced in to the wires, or does the resistor effectively replace the heater part?

Thanks folks

Both. Splice it into those two wires.

A heater is basically a resistor so if your ECU sees a resistance across those two wires it  will read a healthy heater circuit.

Hope that makes sense.

You don't need the resistor and the heater to be in parallel if that's what the splicing means. The ecu just needs to see the resistance across those wires as the captain says so you can cut the wires and attach it on the ecu side and leave the sensor side free.

Perfect - That's exactly what I wanted to hear
