Hi
So, I think I hit a jackpot and got a hold of a 2zz from a 04 Exige compressor. I got pretty much everything from the donor Exige:
Gearbox
Engine
Compressor
IC
Mocal oil cooler
Dry sump
ECU
Wiring harness
Axles
Full exhaust
And more.
Has anyone installed such an engine in their MR2? I know there has been discussed a lot of time how little space there is between the engine and the firewall.
Can I make it fit?
How should I solve the ECU-side of the swap? Run both ECUs?
People using stand alone ecu or V6 swap piggyback the stock ecu to run the dash.
How does this engine differ from the corolla compressor engine lotus badge aside?
This will be an interesting project, woodsport did one a good number of years back. I remember seeing a utube video
Surely first step is to ID the exact supercharger used as there are a few options about. Hanger111 provide a few stages to supercharging and you'd want to know exactly what you have- with that in mind surely your best bet would be to go for the ecumaster GB and just get it mapped there? After all, it's just another 2zz with a compressor?
RRR would be rather pleased to receive this in their workshop I would assume
am i right in saying this is the intercooled exige 240 R engine?
D1ck has had a compressor corolla engine fitted.

And mapped by RRR with a Black
What was gained from mapping?

Whatever performance gains can be had when fuel efficiency and emissions come second to power I'm assuming!

Well done John [emoji1787] now some figures please hehe

Haven't a clue!

I'm asking him now :)
Quite curious. It's supposed to make 240ish right?
So I'm guessing he's squeezed out closer to the 260 mark
Torque is probably more important with a 2zz setup to me. You would think so.

Dicks isnt a 240 R tho is it? It's a 215?

Indeed. Didn't know it was a different charger
I reckon it's a huge improvement over stock time, has someone asked him yet
From what I read it's the same. Added a intercooler and remapped as the intercooler was the compressor corolla weak point. But it was wiki ha.

Dick says his will be about 200 once his exhaust is replaced as it's a big restriction at the minute
Are we now talking at the wheel? 200 at the fly would be bitterly disappointing if its a published 215 in a corolla.

Kind of like 190 in a celica and 175-180 in an mr2? ;)
But yes, I think he means at the wheels
Aii but even more meh
