Post by: s12vea on April 4, 2019, 21:12
Who was it that made Mongos?
Are they still available still?

I think you may mean bekatee ? but she went over to the darkside some years ago now.

Carolyn did experiment with them but not sure how far she got.

Can you still get mongos?

Certainly the best bang for buck mod in my opinion.

Everyone should own a set!

I've still got my failed prototype to the DIY thread from last year and a load of acrylic I was supposed to be making a set with over winter.
But we all know how that went. [emoji23]

I made a few pairs.  We made up a little tool for doing the bending.

I concluded it probably wasn't a commercial proposition.

Could make some more..?

With ding day  coming up it may be a good time to produce a few sets and let people see them? Nothing like an impulse buy!

I dont need any myself though.

Small perspex triangles you stick in the front corner of your side windows. They keep out a lot of air, reducing buffetting, when you drive windows down.
They could basically be made smaller or larger, sitting from nothing to less or more in the side mirror view.

Interested in drivers side, but happy to go for a pair  :withstupid:

A small triangle made from plastic that fit in each door near the wing mirror to channel air away from your face when the driving with the windows down.

I'm sure someone will post a picture

From whom?

Carolyn is family ánd does not produce them like a commercial enterprise.
If she would make some, the discount would be already in it I recon.

:)      Am I correct in thinking I've seen different sizes.....?......I think I've seen a pic of rather large ones.
The size up above looks ok....

There were 2 sizes.

That picture looks like the small size which I have and find perfectly fine.

If I hook the tape measure over the furthest point of the hidden edge to the furthest other point it is 17cm.
If I measure the inner edge then mine are about 16.7cm.

How they look with the door open;

I won't be far behind you except I don't have any Mongos, I'll raise your Mongos by a set of as yet unfitted Dev's door shut tings...

Pat Chambers does these for a very reasonable price. I've a set from him in smoked/tinted finish, looks fantastic and is genuinely useful at keeping out the wind.
