Title: changing bulbs???
Post by: Anonymous on April 5, 2005, 23:54
is it easier to take the front bumper off to get the headlight out to change the bulbs or should it be possible to change them without having to remove it or to take the light out ???
i am changing both the side light and the main beam bulbs if that makes a difference.
(bearing in mind i havnt got the smallest of hands.  s:) :) s:)  )

Just take the plastic cover off around the front bin and you don't have to remove the bumper or the lights  s8) 8) s8)

Yep, remove the under bonnet plastics and you have full access to the bulb holders.

Yes, it's very easy (once you got the technique), and although your hands are quite big, you will manage it   s:wink:  s:wink:

I replaced both mine last week, just have to take out the retaining clips for the plastic underbonnet cover first and you can get to the rear of the headlamps without too much trouble.

I changed my front lights two months ago, and you should really pay attention not to pull the plugs too strong, you might break the connections.....
Putting back the plastic cover over the bulbs was a pain, but patience is key here   s:wink:  s:wink:

does that apply to the side light bulbs as well or just the main beam bulbs????the reason i ask is that they appear to be at the bottom of the light housing???

Is it easy to remove the under bonnet cover??  Do you just get something underneath it to lever it up or is it more straight forward than that??

Just push the middle of the little clips down and it releases them..... to put them back on push the middle up through them, put the clip in the hole and push the protruding bit down.
