Title: Super Charger Car
Post by: Carolyn on October 9, 2019, 11:43
It's never too late to learn.  I've been following a couple of threads on members' turbo projects.

I found a couple of items I'd missed on my supercharger project.

I applied those lessons over the last couple of days. (Mostly what to do with the breather and vacuum systems.)

Result!

While she no doubt would benefit from an ECU from RRR Engineering, she does run rather well now.  Still a little rich, but nothing like as bad as it was.

Went up and down the street with a cold engine, so only about 1/3 throttle.  Pulls like stink.

Thanks for the tips guys!

So pleased, I gave her a wash.

Small matter of insurance, MOT and road tax.  And cops all over the road to the pod most weekends.

Well you COULD obey the speed limit on the way there at least...   it's kinda of tempting to get a trailer and get you there just so we can see what it can do :-)

Brilliant as a newbie I didn't know you were building a super charged one!

We need pictures!

I'll bump the thread (if I can find it).

Jonbill and I ran diagnostics on the car this morning.  After much chin scratching and debate, we have concluded that I have succeeded in killing off the O2 sensors.  Apparently there's a limit to the contamination you can put onto them.  (Who knew?)

Anybody got a couple of spares?  Don't have to be brilliant in terms of response rate, just functioning.

Need to rule them in or out before I can justify spending the money.

I'll put a post in 'wanted' as well.

Tell us more....I've got another car that this might be of relevance to.

I had made a mistake in the plumbing of one of the breathers.  Thus pressurising the engine and blowing all kinds of crap down the exhaust.

That error has been corrected but the sensors no longer 'sense'.  We tried cleaning them and blowing them out.  No good.
