Yes, that is a thread already but it was mé and also including yesterday.
My slightly lightened PFL on Yoko shod Enkeis is doing with OEM n.a.
I have a mild addiction to going sideways, so my mind is éver so drooling about the comprex/turbo cars here.
This morning however, and yesterday, the real world road conditions here are a reality check.
Mind, 300 sunny days/year, daytime temps very rarely under 20 degrees C. and plénty of empty roads.
Yesterday at the coast, swooping over the three lane access road network of Teatinos, not half of the n.a. power was needed to sweep the tarmac with all fout tyres. So smooth and controlled that Málaga girl did not give a peep. Since she was holding on to a rolled up carpet, that was quite a compliment to the car.
This morning, over the provincial road from the farm to the highway restaurant to get a coffee, pretty much the same story. Most of the mud was washed off the road by last overnight rain and the sun had dried the water. Keyword controllable. Mountain girl did not give a peep. No carpet but a bit of a morning mood so móre of a compliment even.
The long story short, the n.a. is enough to play with the car but not so much I need tighten my butt nor does it make the girls peep.
A pity there is not much, if anything, practical/realistic I can do to further lighten the car. A carbon rear lid would be nice but that is silly money.
Oh and I am leaving the nappy off today when the decat midpipe goes on again.
Bottom line; I think the 1ZZ is sweet. Lóve it. Should not desire more. Less is more anyway 8)
Glad you're happy with the stock 1zz.
Getting stuck behind caravans on the A303 when diesel mondeos can pass really upsets me.

I can imagine; it´s a non-issue here.
If I go up from Málaga on a week day, it is some 40 kms of very good surfaced B-road and encountering, mind you the other way, six cars is about average. One car my way if any.
Trucks don´go thataway, nor caravans and the odd tractor is very local traffic as is Juan in his LandRover.
You ´should´ really go here for a spring break; rent the smallest city hatchback availeble and thrash it up/down the interior. Never mind the engine; it´s enough regardless.
If I get the car done today, going out for a spin tomorrow. Mountain girl has a day off and said she´d love for me to take her in in the MR.
The idea is a route mostly over C-roads; northeast of Málaga province, west of Granada and south side of Cordoba. We should be able to see the now aptly named Sierra Nevada.
She has a friend in Fuente del Conde on the A-328 she would like to visit. That should give you a good idea of driver´s paradise out here.

Last time I travelled it was on a Guzzi V50 with gf on the back, to visit Stonehenge and Avebury.
Car park on the one side of the road and crossing on foot to the other in those days. Go figure when thát was; ´78 I think. Not much traffic and easily passed on the motorbike anyway.
Later on we went to the International V twin rally; minimal camping gear ofcourse. We had great fun but by jove what miserable weather. It did not rain all of the time but we have not seen dry road during all of the trip.
One of the most memorable things was the ´greasy spoon´ restaurant and ofcourse the ´full english breakfast´; mán cold white beans in tomato sauce; culture shocks almost. Same thing fish&chips in NEWSPAPER... IEEEEUUUWWWW!!!
Quite liked the brown sauce though and we could sure use that hefty breakfast; I think we never fully dried up inside our waxed cotton suits.
Right, back to today and cars :-)
Just came back from the garage. Swapped the exhaust, changed oils. Was dark, raining on slippy tractor tracks so pussyfooted it. Sounds rorty again! Mountain girl says sexy.
Left the OEM stuff at the garage to pick up with the family car tomorrow. HÉAVY! Nothing like lifting it by hand to feel how much it actually weíghs. You really notice it when you take that much load away from behind the rear axle.
