Title: Engine lid release cable.

My cable passes over the top of the frame above the heat shield, always has done so I assume it's standard and can't say as I've noticed it any different on other cars (not really taken that much notice).
Has anyone got theirs passing under said framework without any negative effects? Like making the cable slack for example, not sure if it's a given length or adjust to fit.
