Title: E5 petrol
Post by: J88TEO on January 22, 2020, 15:59
Understand E5 petrol contains 5% ethanol.
Will the ethanol corrode the plastic fuel pump and the float (plastic?) in the fuel tank?

I don't remember seeing a petrol pump without E5 recently?

The ZZW30 should be ok for up to 15% or so.

At least where I live you can't get fuel without ethanol anymore.

For the 1ZZ it is inconsequencial.

Be aware that Euro98 has no ethanol.
A surprising amount of nineties higher end brands better get fed that. Toyota too advises it for Luxus of that era. It will thus not disappear quite yet.

All,
Thanks...good to know as a bit worried after a friend pointed this out - I think he had a lot of trouble with fibreglass fuel tank on his bike.
Cheers.

Some fiberglass tanks had trouble with petrol. Any petrol. There are several plastic inner coatings.

No worries for our“s.
