Thats a hard one as they both look good.

The current one with the spats probably looks a bit more "special" though.

Its a bit hard to see the detail of the TTE one in black but I guess they are pretty rare so some plus points there.

Could you have both and swop over? I have 3 front bumpers myself!

If you went for it I reckon you'd need a 'silver' intake mesh.

Only down side is it doesn't come with any fog lights I'm looking into some kind of DRL to fit the 45mm dia hole

Thats better to make out the details.

Its a nice looking bumper but I would want some sort of spats or lip if it were mine.

I doubt there is anything like that available though?

I think the basic outer, bottom profile is the same as the PFL bumper so something like the PFL lip should fit I would imagine, maybe need a little trimming.

I have to say, I prefer the original with the spats, but your car, your choice!

There is no discussing taste.

Also there is the OEM tuning thing with anything TRD and TTE; perception of it is reality.

The objéctively positive of both is that it creates variety meeting preference and priority of many.

Yes. And no... Similar but not the same due to the differences in the bumpers. I should add I've nothing whatsoever to do with HZ Dynamics, just know they list it.

If you plan to contact HZ,I would ring them first rather than email.

I really like the look of that. Could be on my list now.

The TTE is special so that would be my choice.

Illustrating the point I made.

In reality the only ´special´ bit is it being marketed through the TTE outlet.
Although TRD and TTE háve produced sóme tuning goodies, the bulk of the offering is thirteen in a dozen after market beads & mirrors.

I've never got my head around the angles on that bumper though, the sharp triangles/diagonals with the rest of the curves on the car. Not that I don't like it as a whole, just seems opposed to the rest of the styling.

The point is yes many mods are more cosmetic than functional even Toyota offered quite a Nr of Options sideskirts, front & rear spats, chrome pack and a variety of leather colours

Even today most Manufacturers have options lists as long as your arm to personalise new cars being bought

It's all about making the car yours it would be pretty boring if we all rocked up to Meets in standard OEM cars

Let's not forget that TTE *is* Toyota, it's part of Toyota Motorsport which is wholly owned and controlled by Toyota.

I actually think the OEM bumper looks better with the big fogs. I definitely see value in making each car a little unique, but I think @Bernie your car passed that point some time ago :D

Side repeaters are common size across many models think from memory was a Hilux trim worth a trawl on eBay

We shouldn't be surprised that you have 2 extra front bumpers, you also have 2 extra cylinders!

One thing in favour of TTE and TRD is that, as mentioned, it is Toyota. As such the stuff can be easily entered in the vehicle docs. as a factory approved modification. I know, I know, some will say option.

Bernie I'm surprised your asking us what we think - if you like it go for it!

It's got rarity value - I've never seen another one in the flesh.  From your photo it does look good and won't distract from the rest of your car.  You can always swop between your current one and the TTE anytime if you want a change!  Personally I don't like the prefacelift bumper (sorry Simon  ;) ) but I know others do and each to his own - they are not rare either  :o

I agree it does need to have the fog holes fitted with DRL's - I've just fitted the Osram Fog/DRL's to Mrs K's Toyota IQ & I've got the Hamish ones fitted to the MR2.  I feel a lot safer driving with DRL's as it does help people to see you on the road.  I also agree that the TTE would look better maybe with a stainless mesh like the Zunsport - maybe they could fabricate one for you?

Hopefully you'll decide to go for it, and if you do I look forward to seeing it.  Mark

Hi Mark
I've been in 2 minds about the bumper, I'm happy with my 2 and this is quite a big change to take on.
I've contacted Zunsport and waiting to hear back on wether they will make custom grilles
I'm also at present struggling to find 45mm dia lights to fit the smaller size holes
I'm probably going to go for it
Thanks all for your comments
