Title: OBD apps for IOS/iPhone
Post by: househead on February 15, 2020, 20:16
So I did have an android phone as my "spare" but the Mrs phone has died and I've had to pass it on. Currently don't have access to Torque Pro.

Anybody got experience using iPhone / iOS apps instead of Torque? I'm just using a cheapo generic elm327 Bluetooth dongle. I expect it will work with most of what's on offer for iOS. I have used the free version of "Car Scanner" but tbh it's pretty crap.

You're going to have to go wifi dongle and DashCommand.
Or a more expensive Bluetooth one specifically for iPhone. Kiwi?

"Car scanner" does communicate with it fine, it's just a crummy app. I had hoped the vast majority of others would :(

I also have an "Obdeleven" dongle but that uses paid for credits in their app, and I think it's at least semi specific to VAG cars. They didn't support iOS until recently. Might try that but I'm expecting nagware and in-app purchase crap
