That looks completely idiotic. I saw a beamer like this the other day. I just don't get it.

I'm torn on these things.
I totally admire those that have the vision and drive to do it. No idea how much work it takes to achieve that look, let alone wine tokens.

But, I don't get it.

Is the why, no more than. Because I can.

People have the right to do whatever they want with their car and even misplaced passion is better than a lack of it.

That said, we also have the right to laugh at it  :))

It is all about the show. They are driven at the promenade, the allees, paseo maritimos, the mega shoping malls.
Imo it is a serious step up in cool above hypercars.

There is no need to point out that it is not exactly improving the roadholding. That would be TOTALLY missing the point of it.

I will explain: A Ferrari is just as useless on the public road and mostly only cruised where it is seen just like the stanced cars. The Ferrari however is ostentatious behaviour and simply bought. The stanced cars are quite trick and needs dedication to the anime character of the car.

Bottom line is that I smile about the Ferrari strugling over the speed bumps on the beach promenade whereas I respect the stanced car.
The Ferrari scraping a few hundred Euros worth of carbon over a speed bump is simply rediculous, the stanced car is a cult thing.

Another example.
Coming weekend there is a freak/nerd/fan Anime convention in Málaga.
The same conference center also hosts a bi-annual supercar exhibition.
The parking around it is littered with speed reductions.
Imo parking a stanced car next to the other handfull in front of the anime convention is wáy cooler than parking a Ferrari or Mega-egg between the plethora of poser mobiles at the supercar event.

I´d love to talk to the above Spyder´s owner, buy him a coffee. The Ferrari owner? Nâh.
I even think there should be a properly stanced JDM car in Málaga´s car museum as a representation of a very important car culture. Remember that anime cars have had a definite influence on car styling, even Ferraris.  Our own beloved MR2 Spyder styling owes quite a bit more more to anime than to Porsche.

Here another facet of the importance of anime/manga on current day car culture and an interesting read

The tyres actually fít the rim. It´s very trick specialist ´stance´ rims. Custom made.

The extreme negative camber highlights the crux of the whole thing; that it is a cartoon thing. The girl you´d take along MUST be manga cosplay :-)

Fair enough.
There is no discussing taste.

I don´t like the easthetics nor the technical aspect yet I, as explained, do get the cult aspects.

Here a practical application of xtreme negative camber:

http://www.turboandstance.net/700hp-2jz-toyota-gr-supra-rocket-bunny-drifting-by-hks-goodwood-fos-2019/

The drift scene is a good example of the JDM car culture and anime intermix flowing over onto the r.o.w.
The importance is illustrated by some important JDM drift tuners having received the new Supra before it was launched to the press so the Supra could be on the scene in 2019 already.

Enthusiasts really shouldn't be judged by what they drive. There are clichés but my experience with Ferrari owners was a wonderful one and it doesn't extend to just a few events I have attended as its a far more positive culture across the board in their circles.

Every-time I went to their meets someone let me drive their car and it brings them joy to pop someones cherry. No other forum group does this but it is quiet common in Ferrari car culture.

As to the the guys that over exaggerate their car some of them can be nice but often they are so into themselves it seems more like body dimorphic syndrome by proxy.

Good for you Dev.
My personal experience is different alas.
Been an active member of various classic car clubs. The last was untill two years at the Costa del Sol.
I have yet to encounter a non snob Ferrari owner. Maybe  met all the exceptions...

I had a drive in a Ferrari. He was quite alright indeed with me giving it a go. And I barely had my license.

Can't say for a club member.

What I will say is that at the Newby Hall event, when  it was still quite decent, the Ferrari/Lambo/Aston club folk were all very welcoming and open to chats.
When the event became a "show us your bass setup" they soon disappeared... But so did we :)

As I observed Patrick , you guys should be grateful then that I meet all the pr@t exeptions so you can enjoy the rule  8)

Ver amusing is the varied experience I have (still visit the odd event as guest) about turning up with a different romantic associate.
I think I have placed a photo of two somewhere here from the last outing.

My company was Margarita, old Malageña well off family but a tall classy blond. She attracted a posh english Rolls driver like a neodymium magnet, which provoked indignant reactions from the wives of his friends. It was hilárious.
When we ordered breakfast, pitufo tostado con tomate y aceite, she chatted with the waiter and he brought us the extra special aceite.
´Ah, how spanish´ one of the ladies observed in a disdainfull manner to her friends, loudly so we would hear.
´We áre in Málaga, píng´ Marga observed to me loud enough and as if suggesting they did not know.
When all got in the cars to go en route, I opened the door for my companion and she on purpose showed all her leg descending in the MR. How scándalous no?!  ;D

Mán I can tell you some stories. Most club diners, most events were/are quite uneventfull apart from the heavy drinking, but sómetimes: true jewels. Oh, not just because of the girls, also because some members are áwesome car heroes with whom I had a great time.
