Title: Removing ARB links from rear struts
Post by: househead on October 12, 2020, 13:54
A kind soul here @Jamtastic donated his old rear struts for my Koni conversion, but the arb links are still attached. I can't get the damn things off. Looks to be a 5mm Allen key bolt with a 14mm nut.

Tried all the plus gas in the world and all the hand torque I can manage but they won't budge.

Any tips? Do I need to grind the damn things off?

Yep, invested in a cordless Makita one to cut the strut housings themselves. I was a bit of butcher with it and cut some other rear struts a bit too small.

Pair of mole grips on the ball joint crushing the boot and making contact with metal underneath and then undo nut or
