Title: Asking for help
Post by: Petrus on December 17, 2020, 21:55
I am at my wits end so humbly asking for help from the community here.

As many of you may have read, I am looking for a cf or lightweight grp bonnet either OEM or vented, ideally rear deck.

Seibon is prohibitive in both product price and shipping.

The other manufacturers based i the UK I simply cannot reach  :o

Maybe it´s my mailaddres, maybe the server location but I am not getting replies and I check my spambox religiously.

The obvious is calling but thát is a challenge on it´s own from the mountains with véry poor coverage and have not had a suitable opportunity to call from elsewhere.

Last hurdle is that I am not on Facebook or other.

Fingers crossed the collective knowledge here can help find a source/solution.

Thanks.

No worries. If you get stuck or they give you a crazy price, give me a shout and should be able to help. Have good rates with FedEx as I ship a few items internationally with them every day at work.

Edit: Just had a quick measure / check, as long as the box size is below a certain size which is marginally bigger than the bonnet lid, would be about £65.

Double WOW!

Thanks for that regardless of which way it goes.

Did you try HZDynamics? Their bonnet comes in stock periodically (I'm talking half a year at least), are you referring to them with the lack of e-mail response?

Yes, found those and made enquiries through the contact page on their website. Would have that one right now with Adam´s gréat shipping offer/solution!!

Have now sent them an email as well. Thanks for reminding me.

I would pay TODAY for either. Prefer the HZD in race-light as it is quite a bit more affordable and/but would be over the moon with the Seibon too as that ís top notch quality.

Right, the sun is warming the ambient temp up a bit. Have the rear of the car on stands so we (my son and I) can fit the Whitelines. Would be way quicker on my own but the father & son time is very much worth any extra anything.

I got my front splitter from HZ, I seem to remember having to ring them up to get a response.

I arranged to pick it up on a cross country trip and it was all ready and the pickup went smoothly though once ordered.

If you have access to the Internet use Skype to call them.

Thanks for the suggestion.
Don´t use it because the connection is too slow. Could try from the language acadamy in the village; they have optic fiber.

Enjoying x-mas. A lót  8)

Today ´moved home´ again. Car was in the sun so folded the top down, took my time warming the engine up, enjoyed the rides só much.
Arrived 11.30 in the mountains. Ice on the water thoughs, frost on the green (thus now white) and the cars all white.
Fire inside roaring hmmmm....

Anyway; the suspension is spot on now. Looking forward to adding more lightness.
So positive thoughts; no post Brexit levies and from 7 Jan they will probably be back at work. Even have some extra budget  ;D  Depending on whether cf or grp, I am contemplating lexan for the windscreen  :-*

Despite Adam´s efforts no dice.
The ´free trade´ has some sharp edges as it does not mean no customs. Shipping, VAT rules and country of origin mess the cost up.
Ordering from the US would be cheaper! Weird and for at least the moment it is not going to happen.
Tant pis. Was réally looking forward to it.
Thanks Adam, much appreciated.

HZ Dynamics does not respond to the phone either.

Meanwhile several friends whom have received their usual UK products from the UK have discovered that they need to pay VAT on UK produce and also duties on goods with other origins. Íf customs forms have been included just as Adam confirmed.
Quite a few have had their parcels returned because it lacked customs papers or infringed food stuff regulations.

Not complicated really; simply the same as from the RoW; Japan, Oz, US, Mexico et al, which we furthermore were quite aware of.
Same for those UK side ordering from the EU: Make sure the correct paperwork is attached and beware of VAT! Just like ordering JDM stuff.
