Easy.  Anti-flex plate. (it's on the floor!)   s:lol:  s:lol:

How the heck did you get your '2 up those ramps?

I meant how did you avoid removing pieces of rear bumper on the angled section?  I tried my set of ramps (ok, they're nearly as old as me!) and I couldn't get close.

I have a set of Halfords ramps and the car has been up on them loads - I gutted the cats last year and have since worked on the turbo with no trouble at all, and I have the mudguards which obviously hang down too (and the car id lowered to start with). You must just have dodgy ramps!

Must have!    s:lol:  s:lol:

Sean, is that offer of assistance with the member braces still on?  I'm hoping to have the car back later next week. (fingers crossed)

Ha, that's why I said very fast - to limit the amount of scraping   s:D :D s:D

Actually, the car goes up fine.

I can do my ramps like that (backwards).... but never managed it going forwards (doesn't look like they'll fit).  Not needed to remove parts.  BUT, I've no lowering springs on yet.

OT for a second - yes, whenever you are ready, just let me know.

Had the same problem with the ramps I tried, again I've not lowered yet.  Is there a particular make or angle/size we should look for?  s:shock:  s:shock:

Liz

I think it makes a big difference.  There is reduced vibration through the wheel and less flexing when braking and turning in.

With the roof up it approaches the rigidity of having the hardtop on.

I still think the hardtop is the ultimate mod but, the corky plate is a good step towards it.

An essential mod.

I miss being able to use ramps  s:? :? s:?  They worked just fine with lowering, but not anymore with the bodykit.
Title: Ramps
Post by: Anonymous on May 2, 2005, 12:29
Try driving onto planks of wood first, this will raise the car, then put the ramps infront of the planks but not on them, make sure the ramps do not touch the car, if they do add more planks and then drive on to the ramps as normal.
Make sure you have no gaps between the planks and ramps and that someone watching!
It works for me, I think some ramps have a less inclined slope that is needed for our car.
Have fun   s:D :D s:D
