I'm a big fan of reducing rotating weight, and so wanted some lightweight pulleys for the engine. I didn't want, however, an underdrive pulley as my car is also occasionally used on the road. Strangely I couldn't find anything OE size.
Stewart at FreakyParts has made pulleys for me before so I got in touch about whether he could make a couple for me :)
After sending him the OE pulleys he sent me back some lovely machined aluminium ones:

A decent weight saving, lighter than underdrive pulleys owing to the size too.
I'll be sending him a 2ZZ water pump in due course to have that made up too, again OE size. No belt sizing issues here!
No affiliation, just a happy customer. If you fancy one, drop him a note.
Níce!
Thanks for sharing.
I díd go underdrive for street use, have an 800 gram LiFe battery ánd 90W dipped beam headlight bulbs. 2 years now, no problem.
Also have a lighter crankshaft pulley.
The idler pulley is a heavy lump too ;)
It's good to try new things but I've got enough problems already.

That's good to know for anyone wanting to squeeze the extra out! I thought about going underdrive, but got stuck trying to figure out whether less weight or less drag would be more beneficial. I went for less weight and more amps in the end. Suspect it makes a gnats hair of a difference one way or the other!
P.s. I also got a lightweight crank pulley made, but let's not get everyone started :D

The best problems to solve are the ones that don't need solving 😁

I put a Q&D calculation on here somewehere and the inertia of the rotor is consíderably (order of factor 100 because the revs are so high) more than the difference in weight of a lightweight OEM size and underdrive size, hence I went for that one.

You are smarter than I am! I didn't even think to search 😂
