Hi,
Do all FL 6 speeders have LSD?
Need to change my gearbox oil - recommendations?
Thanks.
Yes, you have LSD.
Redline MT90 is the stuff. Two quart bottles.
The Original LSD on the Toyota MR2 is not a clutch plate LSD , as such does not need specific LSD oil.
Redline MT90 is highly regarded but expensive, last time I changed I used Motul Gear 300 75W-90

I think you will need 3 quarts ? isn't it 2.3L or 2.4 quarts for the 6 speed ?

Yes- you're right about that. Redline comes in US sized quarts which are .95 Ltr.
And yes, Redline is more expensive, but, it is very good in our boxes and you won't be changing gearbox oil very often, so why not?
I seem to remember only using 2 bottles of MT90 (which did improve the gearchange slightly).
Thanks everyone.
I was worried about the LSD ( clutch type as mentioned )!
Nothing to worry then so its Redline MT90 then.
Cheers.
I have used Redline MT90 for a very long time and its good because it is a GL4 fluid that does not contain the sulfur additives that attack yellow metals. It also is not as slippery as the GL5 fluids which makes shifting better since the synchronizers lock up quicker.
However some of us in the US have switched to a better fluid which is Amsoil GL4. This fluid is even better with cold shifting and overall with better positive shifts which is universally felt by others as well.
I found a distributer in the UK in case anyone wants to try the Amsoil as an alternative.

Great. Thanks for the link.
Cheers.
