David and I just went to look at an MR S in Northampton.
It's black, it's body and underside are immaculate. The guy selling it had been told it's one of three MR S in the Uk. Which it ain't. But it IS special.
It has a genuine 43,600 miles on it and you can tell it's never been out in the rain and had been garaged all its life.
It's totally original, no modifications whatsoever, and here's the kicker: Its transaxle number ends in a 'B'. So it has factory LSD! Rocking horse pooh!!
The roof has issues around the glass and the driver's bolster is showing wear and it has a silly gear knob.
It's on Ebay. The seller has an offer from someone who wanted to turn it into a track car. He turned the offer down. Good on him, I say!
It's a cracker, guys. Jane?? Might be the one for you?

It's an atrocious advert, - is he dyslexic.....?

I would suggest it's more like English isn't their first language.
I had to do a double take as my cousin's MRS had a similar reg, same arrangement of letters but different numbers.

I think, perhaps he may be. He was quite intelligent and articulate in person. Definitely UK born.
Looks like the same car

He told me his reserve. It's a lot lower than that. I'm not going to say exactly because it was a confidence.
Mini-thread highjack, but for that sort of money you could have got THIS CAR (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2005-Toyota-MR2-1-8-LIMITED-EDITION-ROADSTER-TTE-BODYKIT-EXHAUSTS-HARD-TOP-RO-/133738328457?nma=true&si=nWjlM%252BZbivPpjO4uCT9d%252BHYtCps%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557) .
44k miles, hard top, TTE bodykit and exhaust, heated leather seats, style bar, chrome highlights etc. So totally standard but optioned up. It sold within a couple of days of being listed.
If it was on my doorstep I would have gone and taken a look at it. As is still running Bridgestones is likely to need new tyres and you'd want to make sure it's been well attended to despite the good service history.

Mwah; JDM ECU, JDM gearbox, LSD... some RC cars cost more.

All UK cars have LSD.
I suppose the JDM gearbox is nice but as I usually add forced induction to all my 2s not necessary. And I can't see what benefits there are of the jdm ecu.

According to Carolyn the ECU is just that bit crisper.
A turbo install costs as much as what you don´t want to pay for the car.
Biggest bonus of the JDM ecu is no post-cat o2 sensor.
Don't know about map differences
Downside is no immobiliser.

I´d call that an upside ;-)

So would I for convenience but my insurance disagrees :(

It has a Thatcham alarm and immobiliser.
The engine is sweet, the valves are quiet, the wheels are faultless. It's the best MR S I've seen.

A turbo makes it a better car to me.
Even though I know more power doesn't equal a better car.
My V6 is far too fast tbh but a nice little turbo like Mr T did makes the car perfect.

I'd love an MR-S in the stables. Alongside a SC car haha. We can dream

I´d be happy with the shorter 5 speed. That said, quite happy with how it is ;-) Will be putting the OEM cat back under btw. Just that bit less loud and ditto less paranoia about getting nicked for both.
