Title: K swap and power steering
Post by: Bullit on May 8, 2021, 12:47
I know this is going to be really niche but i'm trying to finish off my K swap. The power steering pump now comes on with the ignition in position 1, I can't remember if it did this before. The pump is that loud i initially thought it was the radiator fans.

Has anyone had any experience with this ?

@Bullit

I've recently cleaned the PS motor and changed the fluid with help from:

Whether either will reduce the noise your pump is making I know not but it just might and there is little else to do with the pump.

It was the same behavior with the 2ZZ swap. I wouldn't worry about it.

Same here. PS pump works with ignition on and engine not running.
