Title: Oil Filter and Engine Number Questions
Post by: tets on May 8, 2021, 19:03
I'll start with the oil filter housing - Just swapping the sandwich plate from the old turbo car to the race car and they are completely different - The race car has 2 pipes coming off it but the old turbo car just 1 which currently houses the feed for the turbo. Just wondered if anyone can shed any light on the change?

That then brings me to the engine numbers - thought i'd check the old turbo cars engine number to see if it was original or if it had been changed - both 2000 cars but I know the race car has a newer engine but no history of the old turbo car - cleaned said areas and no engine number on the old turbo car - did they put them somewhere else at any point?

cheers
Steve

The one with two pipes is standard UK car setup, the pipes are to the coolant system.
the MRS and I think some other 1zz vehicles don't have it.
Your turbo engine fitting is aftermarket I think.

cheers Jon, just had a "proper" search through the original owners posts on here and turns out the engine came from an import - Also found out, if it's still with the same box, it's an JDM with LSD
